Hello there! My name is Odera (or O.D. for short) and I’m a self-taught photographer based in London, with a passion for documenting ordinary people and their everyday stories in a unique and subtle way. I specialise particularly in interiors, lifestyle, restaurant & hospitality, and portraits — but I tend to dabble in just about everything. Even still, most days I can’t believe I get to call this my job.
In 2017 I graduated with a BA English Language & Communication degree from King’s College London, where I also developed my love for photography and purchased my first camera (God bless student loans). Born in Lagos, Nigeria and having resided in Germany, Scotland, Newcastle and now London, I’m big on travel and I love to document untold stories, often finding myself exploring big or new cities by roaming the streets and shooting personal street photography projects.
I have been working professionally in the industry for the past 2 years, as both a freelancer and more currently as the in-house photographer for design studio & creative agency, Barefaced Studios (as well as their local north London culture & lifestyle magazine, North Four). I also previously spent time as the Director of Photography for an independent culture magazine called Renowned, which I co-founded with a group of other creatives.
A love of good design and aesthetics has influenced my more corporate photography work and so I set up an editorial photography agency with my brothers called Albert Penn that shoots commercially & editorially for publications in a variety of industries. If you’re looking for work related to that, check out our website in the link above.
